The Beginning 1970-1978
Marcel purchased his first paint kit and started painting the second day he emigrated to the US in 1970. Haiti is renowned for having many world-class artists but painting the typical Haitian style was not gratifying and challenging enough for Marcel. He started experimenting with Cubism in his High School art classes which impressed his teachers and classmates.
After taking Geometry and Drafting classes in college, he painted the "Haitian Slave Revolt Dance Ceremony" using only geometrical shapes and straight lines.
The passion for straight lines began.
