Marcel Toussaint
Marcel was born an artist but did not get the opportunity to explore his capabilities until he emigrated to the U.S. from Haiti in 1970. He started painting the typical Haitian scenes but quickly realized that an artist must develop a style that is unique and can challenge the mind.
He took his first art class in high school where he began to explore ways to modify the human body and challenge people’s imagination. In college, he became fascinated with geometrical shapes and developed a cubist/realist style of painting that uses only straight lines.
After a long 30-year hiatus from painting, being married and raising two beautiful children, and successful engineering career, he has retired and finally has time to express his creativity and share his inspirations with the world. He calls his artistic approach, “A Passion for Straight Lines”.
